Need A Little Time To Wake Up

For a few years, since at least the early pandemic but perhaps dating a little earlier, I’ve kept a note in my phone, the start of which you see above. It’s called “Things I will pay top dollar for,” with “top dollar” essentially being the amount I am willing to pay that will not bankrupt me. The list is fairly extensive, and you can’t see the rest of it.

As you may have guessed based on the timing and general tenor of the so far text-heavy image and preceding graf, tonight I get to cross the top item, the very reason for its creation, off of that list.

After all the bombast and animosity of the past 16 years and the 40 leading up to the break, the Gallaghers of Manchester are riding again. It’s the reunion I held out hope would happen before Liam’s voice was completely shot; after seeing both of Noel and him in 2018, I was convinced they could do this, if for no other reason than the money being right.

A divorce fast-tracked that bit, and Noel’s daughter was the catalyst for getting her father and uncle back on speaking terms. There we were; now here we are.

For this, the crew rolls deep, starting with (c’mon, you know) my oldest, not older brother and including two other esteemed friends of the program. A tailgate materialized and almost instantly disintegrated; we’ll see about that.
